What is high blood sugar?

When a person has diabetes, they are going to have high blood sugar. This is something that needs to have medical attention and the sooner the better. It is important to have the right care so that the disease does not progress into something else. You do not want to take the risk of any complications happening due to the diabetes.

Normal blood sugar is 65-140. This is where you want to keep your blood sugar. If you have high blood sugar, the range is going to be 250-350. If you have very high blood sugar, you will have anything over 350. You need to pay close attention to your sugar and do your very best to keep it under control.

If your blood sugar falls too low, the body will begin a process to increase the blood sugar. The pancreas will release a hormone called glucagons. The muscles and the liver will convert their stored glycogen back into glucose. When the stored glycogen is used up, the liver, the kidneys, and the small intestines can break down protein into glucose.

It is so important to monitor this with a meter. You need to check it all the time. Some people check their blood glucose at night an in the morning. This is a must when it comes to taking control of your diabetes. This is the only way that you can make sure that you are in good health and that you are taking control of your diabetes. You need to make sure that you are aware of your disease and that you are taking the right steps to staying healthy.

If your blood sugar is too high or too low, you will have to talk to your health is provider to make sure that all is well. You need to have good communication with your doctor to ensure that all the necessary precautions are being taken so that there are no complications with the disease. This is something that you need to do so that you can manage it as well as you possibly can.
