What causes type 1 diabetes?
Type 1 diabetes is known as the insulin-dependant diabetes. This is also
called juvenile diabetes. It is blamed for taking over five to ten percent
of all the diagnosed cases of diabetes that is found today. This is a real
problem that has to be dealt with and the only way to do is by having the
right knowledge.
There is no exact cause for type 1 diabetes. It is however believed to
follow the rule of environment problems. It is like a virus or an allergy,
which stimulates the immune system of a baby, kid or young adult. It is
said to attack the beta cells located in the pancreas. These beta cells
are the insulin producers and when they are attacked they will stop making
the insulin. This is what causes diabetes to develop.
It is said that type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition. Without
insulin in our body, glucose builds up in the blood and can cause the
person to go into a coma and may even result in death. This is only if the
person is not taken care of immediately.
Type 1 diabetes has symptoms that include fatigue, frequent urination,
thirst, weight loss, sweet smelling breath, and hard time breathing. There
is some proof that diabetes has a genetic link. If a person has a close
family member that is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes their chances will
increase.
It is important to have the right medication and treatment when a person
is dealing with type 1 diabetes. There is so much that is still unknown
about this disease. There are many researchers that are taking their time
to do the necessary work that is needed to get to the bottom of this
problem. There is still a lot to learn so that more and more people can
get the answers that they need.
There are many books and articles that are able to give people the
information that they are going to need to get the right knowledge that
they need. Getting facts instead of myths is the only way to fully
understand what this disease can do to a body and what is need to take
care of the problem.
